John McFerran, PhD, CMC, CPsych, FCHRP, Founder and President, is certified as a psychologist, a human resource professional and a management consultant. He has been elected a Fellow of the Human Resource Management Association of Manitoba.
John has over 20 years of senior level consulting experience. He was associated with Deloitte & Touche Management Consultants in Winnipeg, leaving as the Partner-in-Charge of the Human Resources Division. Deloitte & Touche is a large management consulting and accounting firm with offices across Canada and around the world.
At Deloitte & Touche, John was responsible for all human resource services to clients including executive recruiting, compensation, pay equity, career management, outplacement, HR planning, training, labour/employee relations, organization reviews and operations reviews. However, he spent the majority of his time in executive search and conducted over 200 assignments. These projects were for mid management to CEO positions with clients in both the public and private sectors.
In 1990, John joined The North West Company as the Vice President of Human Resources, a role he occupied for 10 years. As the Vice President, John was responsible for all programs to support attracting, retaining, developing, rewarding and motivating employees in support of the Company's strategic goals. This included services such as cultural change, labour relations, employment equity, payroll, compensation, benefits, training, HRIS and employee relations.
With People First, John focuses primarily on executive recruiting projects at the Director, Vice President and C-Level. He has successfully completed many senior search assignments across a wide variety of industrial sectors.
